A 'new' colleague joins CegeSoma team

In what could be called a 'Talent Exchange' (within the Archives), we are delighted to welcome Bart Willems, PhD in History from the VUB, to CegeSoma since June 11.
A long-standing colleague at the State Archives in Beveren, Bart is joining Cegesoma for three days a week (Wednesday to Friday). He will continue to work in parallel as an archivist on Mondays and Tuesdays in Beveren, where he is, among other things, in charge of the inventory of archive files on World War II.
Co-editor of 'Was opa een nazi ? Speuren naar het oorlogsverleden', published in 2017 (translated to French : 'Papy était-il un nazi? Sur les traces d'un passé de guerre'), he is also the author of numerous other publications and inventories relating to the Resistance, German repression, Winter Relief and more.
At CegeSoma, he will replace Artyom Lyapounov for the development of the Resistance in Belgium database. He will also be coordinating the Resistance History Network and helping to develop the content of the Belgium WWII website.
We welcome him and look forward to working with him!
