"Resistance in Flanders" database

This database brings together for the first time all the archival sources kept in Belgium on the resistance in Flanders and Brussels during and after the Second World War. It is thus a centralized and virtual access to the archives of the resistance which records all Belgian archival fonds, except for the municipal archives conserved outside the provincial capitals. Please note that this database has not been updated since December 31, 2008.

Flanders does not only refer to the geographical space of the current Flemish and Brussels regions: sources relating to resistance fighters and resistance organizations that were active in Flanders are also included in this database.

The database "Resistance in Flanders" has been elaborated on the model of Pallas. It can be searched along the tree structure or by using words from the title, descriptions or keywords (see the list of these keywords).

The « Resistance in Flanders » database only inventories archival sources. Via the general catalog of CegeSoma you will find other sources on the resistance kept at CegeSoma, such as the underground press, and post-war leaflets, brochures or publications of resistance organizations. The Interview Collection also contains interviews with former resistance fighters. Finally, there is a bibliography that includes literature about the resistance in Flanders.
