Karel Strobbe (°1984) studied history at Ghent University. His thesis examined the attitude of the Catholic periodical press toward Protestants and Protestantism in 1884-1914.

In 2007-2010 he worked at KADOC on a research and publication project about the apostolic congregation of the Sisters of the Child Jesus.

From January 2011, he was hired at CegeSoma as an assistant for the Public History and Academic Activities sectors. He was also involved in WW1 and WW2 heritage projects in Belgian Limburg, in collaboration with the Provinciaal Centrum voor Cultureel Erfgoed (PCCE) and various local partners from North-Limburg.

From August 2013 to May 2015, he worked on the project 'Cities in War 1914-1918'.

He left CegeSoma on 31 December 2015.
