Mark Schaevers

 

Mark Schaevers is born in Heppen in 1956 and holds a degree in Germanic Philology at KU Leuven. He has worked for publishers Kritak and periodical Humo. For many years (19962001), he was head of the literary supplement of De Standaard, co-editor-in-chief of Humo and finally became editor of the former (since 2004). He wrote several books, among others Hugo Claus: groepsportret (2004), De wolken. Uit de geheime laden van Hugo Claus (2011) and Orgelman. Felix Nussbaum. Een schildersleven (2014). He is currently working on a biography about Hugo Claus, to be published by De Bezige Bij. He lives in Heverlee with his wife Tine Piessens and their three children, Hannah, Elena and Sebastian.
