Guy Bud is an independent researcher interested in the political aspects of the Second World War in Belgium and especially the Belgian Congo. He is currently working on a monograph about the conflict in Belgian Africa and particularly its effects on society and governance.

Guy studied at the University of Oxford and has spoken at conferences at Oxford, Cambridge, and London. His master’s thesis examined the political aspirations of the white population of the Belgian Congo and Ruanda-Urundi during the Second World War, engaging with their local and international influences.
