Geneviève Warland
Geneviève Warland (°1964) is a philosopher (UCLouvain), philologist (Université Stendhal-Grenoble III) and a doctor of history from the Université Saint-Louis-Bruxelles (European doctorate), where she defended in 2011 an interdisciplinary thesis in transnational history and philosophy: ('L’usage public de l’histoire. Grammaire de la nation et de l’Europe chez Blok, Lamprecht, Lavisse et Pirenne; Ferry et Rüsen'). She joined the CegeSoma team in August 2018 as part of the finalisation of the Brain project « Memex WWI - Recognition and Resentment: Experience and Memory of the Great War in Belgium ». She teaches at the History Department of UCLouvain within the professional focus « Communication of Historical Knowledge ». Her areas of interest,are the history of 19th and 20th centuries historiography in Europe, the history of scientific institutions and cultural mediators, the history of the First World War from the point of view of intellectual history, the history of emotions and the history of war memory and commemorations.
