Mélanie Bost (°1974) studied modern history and non-European arts at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB). In May 2013, at UCLouvain, she defended her doctoral thesis on the Belgian judiciary in the First World War. From September 2007 to March 2012, she worked at CegeSoma as a doctoral fellow student  within the PAI project "Justice and Society: socio-political history of justice in Belgium (1795-2005)". From February 2013 to November 2016, she was a post-doctoral student attached to CegeSoma and the Royal Military School within the framework of the PAI  "Justice & Populations, the Belgian experience in international perspective 1795-2010 ", analyzing the consequences of WW1 on the functioning of the Belgian justice system.

She left CegeSoma on 30 November 2016.
