The new Journal of Belgian History

The new Journal of Belgian History (JBH) is an illustrated scientific journal devoted to the history of Belgium in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. It is the result of a merger between the old RBHC / BTNG (1969-2011) and the Cahiers d'Histoire du Temps présent / Bijdragen tot de Eigentijdse Geschiedenis (1996-2011). The journal publishes high-quality articles, summaries of the work of recent doctoral theses, and reviews of historical monographs concerning the history of Belgium, as well as a debate forum. More information can be found in the editorial of the first issue (click here for consultation).

The journal has been incorporated since 2007 in the ISI Arts and Humanities Citation Index. Four issues are published annually including articles in English, French and Dutch. The new JBH is published by CEGESOMA. The journal has its own website (click here for consultation).

The CHTP-BEG online

We have decided to put all the issues of the journal online thus assuring a wider accessibility.
Contemporary history in Belgium suffers from a lack of international visibility that is not entirely due to a lack of interest for the history of a “small” country.
If you wish to read a issue or a specific article, it is now possible.

The merger of the Bijdragen tot de Eigentijdse Geschiedenis(BEG)/Cahiers d'Histoire du Temps présent (CHTP) and the Belgisch Tijdschrift voor Nieuwste Geschiedenis/Revue belge d'Histoire contemporaine  in the beginning of 2012 led to the creation of the new Belgisch Tijdschrift voor Nieuwste Geschiedenis/Revue belge d'Histoire contemporaine. This event seemed a good opportunity to better acquaint you with the CHTP-BEG. We therefore offer most issues of the CHTP-BEG at the price of 5 euro instead of 22 euro.
